Dallas - More Cousins!

Big weekend!

In addition to Michael and Libby's wedding, we were also able to spend some quality time with my brother Bryan, Cathe, Jonah, Madison and Asher! James had a blast finally getting to meet and play with his Dallas cousins! We loved catching up with everyone, but definitely sad that we all live so far away. We couldn't get over how big our nieces and nephews are now. When did Maddie and Jonah become teenagers?! In my head they are all still six.

We love you guys. Please come visit us soon!

Dallas - Easter Egg Hunt

Adding to the action packed weekend, we were invited by a coworker of Phil's to join him and his family of twin boys, just a few weeks younger than James, to a toddler egg hunt at their community park. As this was the weekend before Easter, it was adorable watching all of the babies try to put eggs in their baskets, eat grass, eat the treats inside the eggs and just ham it up in their cute Easter outfits for the parents taking pictures.

Our son? Oh he saw the eggs. He ate the treats. He helped put eggs in other babies' baskets. And then, he realized there was a wide open field next to the egg hunt. AND, he was OFF. James had a field day running around the park!

"Hello ladies"
"Fire truck basket? I'll take that please"
See that pink rope behind him, marking off the egg hunt section?
James saw it too
And freedom had been found

The view in front of me
See a little boy and the Dad who chased after him?
And the view behind me
The twins, and James. That was the best attempt at getting a picture
of the 3 of them, before J bolted for the field again!
What a fun morning!

Dallas - Wedding!

Michael and Libby tied the knot! And, we couldn't have been more thrilled to have witnessed their intimate garden wedding in downtown Dallas in mid-April. Beautiful wedding, and beautiful couple! James was also excited to be able to spend more quality time with his Klindt ladies and Jason and Molly.

This Dallas trip marked my first time traveling/flying alone with James (and all of our gear). Phil had flown down there for work earlier in the week, so we met him later at the hotel.
The peaceful "before" take-off
Minus the fact that we were on a teeny tiny plane for 3 hours (in a 1-seat row, 2-seat row plane), and that we had the very last seat on the 1 row side, which equals zero room for a squirmy toddler to move, our traveling experience was otherwise a great success (bonus that James slept for 1.5 hours of the flight!). How can it be that at just 15 months old, James has already been on 6 airplanes?! Quite the little traveler already!
The after! Waiting for our stroller and running off steam, enjoying his freedom from confinement.

Waiting for Uncle Bryan to pick us up!
So thankful that my brother also lives in Dallas. We were finally able to spend some quality time with him and family over this quick weekend trip as well (separate post with cousins to come!). Although he tried to meet James the weekend of his due date, this was James' first time meeting his Uncle Bryan!

Cheers!

Cute little splashpark found on our walk around downtown
One of my favorite pictures. Phil's camo hunting hat, those curls, and cheeks, and toes.
I could squeeze him.

Wedding Day
Our friends, Jason and Molly watched James as we enjoyed ourselves at the wedding. We hadn't seen them since their big move down south last summer and it was nice to spend some time! James loved playing with their "pup-pup."
Thanks again for watching him, it was great to see you guys!

The Mr & Mrs!
CONGRATULATIONS!!
