Friday morning fun.
Something tells me we will be here a lot this summer. James had a blast!

First Haircut!

James is blessed with amazing hair. Lucious locks with big ringlet curls on the ends.

However, last week, it was time to finally take a trip to the hair salon. My attempts of trimming his bangs and ends only went so far. I had neither the willpower to cut the curls off or know-how of how to trim his hair without fear of totally ruining his style. Therefore, one rainy morning called for this fun indoor activity. We headed to a cute child hair salon that had all the bells and whistles of distraction: tv's, bubbles, toys, suckers, etc. However, turns out yogurt and goldfish crackers are the ultimate distraction for James.

Proud to say that he sat the entire time and did great! No tears, except for when she was done and tried to spray mouse in his hair! He loved sitting in the big chair. He knew it was a special day!
James is so proud! He definitely felt special this day,
and loves showing everyone his picture on our fridge!

Zoo

We took James to the zoo last weekend.
Great family day! He loved the giraffes, elephants and new carousel ride.

Go Tribe!

James is very aware of all different types of sports these days.

He knows that when golf is on, he goes to get his golf club to play along. The same happens when we watch the World Cup, he starts kicking his soccer ball around. Now that baseball season (ok, the great weather part in Cleveland) is here, sure enough, he runs to get his tot-size Indians baseball bat and ball to play along with the team. So, thanks to everyone who got him each of those toys for his birthday - rest assured they get used often!

You can imagine he was pretty thrilled to go to a game in person; now that he is more aware of the sport. He loved attending his first baseball game of the season, and flirting/hamming it up for everyone in the seats around us. Although we didn't stay in the sun long, we found some shady open spots a few rows back and he was excited to get his own seat!

A New View

James is now forward facing in his big boy car seat! He loves being able to see all the cars (and trucks) as we drive, and to check out all of the buttons on the dashboard! I love that I am now able to look back and see this:
This was my view on Monday morning, just after taking Phil to the airport.
Big boy (who LOVES his yogurt).

The Cleveland Open

The Cleveland Open (Web.com Tour) was held in our backyard this year. Coincidentally, at a country club Phil used to caddy at growing up. One of Chad's golf students, Roberto Diaz, was playing in the tournament, so we were happy to go enjoy the beautiful day and follow him around the course!

Bonus: James decided to take a nap
Phil and Bobby

Meet the Trucks

One of James' favorite bedtime stories is Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site.
Lakewood Park hosted a "Meet the Trucks" that had all of the city's
big trucks on display for the kids to explore.

Johnny Football?

James was pretty excited about getting Johnny Manziel drafted as the Browns QB pick.
Future quarterback himself? Well, so far he's just pretty impressed with his shadow.
