Happy Halloween!

James, the Fire Cat.

This year I really explained the idea of dressing up for Halloweeen, getting to wear a costume. I almost ordered a monkey costume and called Halloween done. So glad I didn't! When I asked James what he wanted to be for Halloween he told me, 'Meeee Ow! Meeee Ow!' and patted his head for a hat. Then said 'Whoo Whoo, truck, tall!'

There you have it. He wanted to be Pickles, the Fire Cat, wear a fire hat and ride in a fire truck with a tall ladder. This was my first homemade costume attempt!
Thanks to Uncle Matt and Carson family for introducing James
to the book, The Fire Cat! If you can't tell, he loves it!

This year we learned James loves passing out candy, seeing all the costumes, going trick-or-treating and apparently, hoarding Reese's cups! Rainy/chilly, but fun, night!

Pumpkin Time!

James was all about cleaning out the pumpkin this year!
He dove right in, fire hat and all.
He took his job very seriously and loved every slimy seedy goopy minute!

Sunday Funday - Corn Hole!

As Phil and I are both proud Miami grads, we knew the day would come when we would have to introduce the game of corn hole to James. Thanks to my Dad for the fun Great Lakes set - we couldn't stop laughing at James's reaction to the game. He was more interested in saving the bags from going into the hole and collecting them. This made scoring pretty interesting, but hilarious to watch.
Great Brown's pre-grame!

Gigi & Van Hala Visit

We had a great day a few weeks ago. We took a day trip to Canton to visit Grandma Gibbs, James' Great Grandmother (he is her 12th great grandchild which is just unbelievable to me). This was the first time she was able to meet James and it was wonderful to be able to spend time with her. He remembers the visit and calls her Mama Gigi. Precious.

Afterward, we were able to spend time with Hank and Holly, and share a dinner with Mackenzie, Jason, Nolan and Mira before they moved to London! Special day!

Fall Nature Walk - 22 Months

James ~ 22 Months

Every season gets more and more fun watching James take it all in. Great evening walk looking at the beautiful leaves, changing colors and of course, collecting acorns in his pockets.

Red Wagon Farm

As James now says, "Happy Fall!"

Although it was a pretty chilly day, we had a fun afternoon at Red Wagon Farm. We enjoyed a hayride, picked out some pumpkins, played in a corn pit and took home some cider. Great fall family Sunday!

"CHEESE!"
