Holiday Rewind: Santa!

Beginning of December 2013

If you were wondering whether James went to visit Santa this year, well, this post is for you.

In the very early part of December, we took James to see Santa at Pettiti's Garden Center. Back then, James wasn't so sure about this Santa guy (as you can see). However, he has been OBSESSED with Santa ever since. LOVES him. Could not read enough books about him. (James is still wearing his Santa PJ's proudly in this frigid month of January.)

Thanks to my parents, we had a stuffed life-size Santa in our living room who James looked forward to saying good morning and good night to, every day. For the record, he sat on our Santa's lap numerous times, and even gave him hugs (sorry Santa pictured below, maybe next year?!). However, somehow, I do not have a picture of this.

James' favorite stories in the weeks/days leading up to Christmas were, fittingly, The Night Before Christmas (one of his gifts from the NICU nurses last year), as well as a Christmas Little People peekaboo flap book, and he amazingly memorized where Santa was hiding on every page (too cute!). He truly couldn't get enough of pointing Santa out (or "Tanta" as he lovingly calls him), any chance he got.

The day "our" Santa had to go back to the "North Pole" was a sad day. James pointed to the empty chair numerous times that following week chanting "Tanta, tanta?" wondering where he was hiding. Oh next year, little man, next year...
James was excited to see Santa...
...until we actually sat down.
Ho Ho Ho!
